If you want to grow through affiliates, referrals or channel partners, the platform you choose shapes how you recruit partners, track the business they bring, pay commission and support those relationships as you grow.
We sit on the other side of the table. Slick Media is a partner to hundreds of software brands, and we earn through most of the platforms below every day. So alongside what each one does, we've added what it is actually like to work with as a partner.
"Partnership platform" covers three quite different things:
- Networks that connect you with established publishers and affiliates (CJ, Awin, PartnerStack).
- Programme software to run your own programme and recruit partners yourself (Tapfiliate, FirstPromoter, Rewardful, Dub, Lemon Squeezy).
- Partner management for wider, multi-type or sales-led partnerships (impact.com, Partnerize, Introw).
Before you compare anything, ask: what do we need partners to help us achieve, and how will we support them?

1. PartnerStack: for building a B2B partner programme

PartnerStack runs B2B affiliate, referral, reseller and co-selling programmes, and pairs the software with a marketplace of partners who actively look for SaaS products to promote. Now part of AppDirect, it has added AI-assisted partner recruitment and support.
- Best for: SaaS and B2B software companies that want partnerships to become a dedicated growth channel, with several partner types under one roof.
- Watch out for: Pricing is aimed at funded, scaling companies. Payouts are handled centrally, which partners like, but commission approval can take time.
Our experience: We work with a large share of our software partners through PartnerStack. From the partner side it is one of the cleanest experiences: one login, one payout, clear statuses. If your buyers are SaaS teams, the network effect is real.
2. impact.com: for managing several types of partnership

impact.com covers affiliate, creator, influencer, referral and strategic B2B partnerships, with tools for discovery, contracts, tracking, fraud protection and payments. It describes itself as a partnership management platform rather than a classic network.
- Best for: Scaling brands that work with lots of different partner types and want them in one system, with flexible contracts per partner.
- Watch out for: The breadth comes with complexity and enterprise-level cost. Budget for the setup time, not just the licence.
Our experience: impact.com hosts several of our biggest tech partners. Contract terms per partner and dependable reporting make it a strong pick once you are past the experimental stage.
3. CJ: for reaching customers through publishers and affiliates

CJ (formerly Commission Junction) is one of the longest-running affiliate networks, connecting advertisers with content publishers, coupon and loyalty sites, and creators, backed by managed service options.
- Best for: Retail, travel, finance and larger consumer brands that want access to established, high-volume publishers.
- Watch out for: Commissions can be paid in the advertiser's own currency, so multi-currency reporting needs care. Popular programmes compete hard for publisher attention.
Our experience: We run several programmes through CJ. It is reliable and the publisher base is deep, but a smaller brand needs a strong offer and active recruiting to stand out.
4. Partnerize: for managing a growing affiliate operation

Partnerize brings together partner discovery, tracking, contracts, measurement and automated payments, with a focus on enterprise brands in retail, travel and telecoms.
- Best for: Established brands with a busy affiliate channel that need more automation, stronger measurement and global payments.
- Watch out for: It is built for scale. If you run a small programme, the feature set may outweigh what you will actually use.
Our experience: Ask Partnerize to show where it will save your team hours each week, whether that is recruitment, commission validation or payouts. That is where the return is.
5. Awin: for building a programme through an affiliate network

Awin is one of the largest global affiliate networks, connecting advertisers with publishers, creators and comparison sites across almost every sector. It also owns ShareASale.
- Best for: Brands across the UK, Europe and beyond that want a network route to finding partners, with strong retail and lifestyle coverage.
- Watch out for: Network fees sit on top of the commissions you pay. Look at the full cost, and how much account support is included at your size.
Our experience: Awin's breadth is a real advantage, especially in the UK. Keep your API credentials up to date: Awin asks publishers and advertisers to rotate tokens after security reviews, and reporting stops until you do.
6. Tapfiliate: for running your own branded programme

Tapfiliate is self-serve software for affiliate, referral and influencer programmes, with branded partner portals, flexible commission rules and integrations for common ecommerce and billing platforms.
- Best for: Smaller businesses and ecommerce brands that want to recruit partners themselves without paying network fees.
- Watch out for: There is no built-in audience of affiliates. The software works; finding and motivating partners is your job.
Our experience: In-house tools like Tapfiliate are great value, as long as someone owns recruiting and keeps partners engaged after launch.
7. FirstPromoter: for SaaS affiliate programmes

FirstPromoter is affiliate and referral software built for SaaS. It connects to Stripe, Paddle, Chargebee and other billing tools so commissions follow subscription revenue.
- Best for: Subscription businesses that want recurring commissions and accurate handling of upgrades, downgrades and refunds.
- Watch out for: Check exactly how it handles your billing rules, especially trials, annual plans and refunds.
Our experience: Recurring commission is the biggest reason partners like us promote a SaaS product long term. Tools that get recurring revenue right are worth paying for.
8. Rewardful: for SaaS businesses using Stripe

Rewardful sets up affiliate and referral programmes for SaaS businesses, with native Stripe and Paddle integrations so you can be live in a day or two.
- Best for: Early and growth-stage SaaS companies billing through Stripe who want a fast, low-maintenance setup.
- Watch out for: It is lean by design. Check that the reporting and payout options cover how your programme will grow.
Our experience: For a Stripe-based start-up, this is one of the quickest ways to launch. Make sure your affiliates get a clean dashboard; it keeps them active.
9. Dub: for connecting partner links with revenue

Dub started as an open-source link management platform and now includes Dub Partners, with conversion tracking, partner payouts and analytics tied to every short link.
- Best for: Product-led and developer-focused companies that want short links, attribution and partner payouts in one place.
- Watch out for: The partner programme side is newer than the link tools, so confirm it covers your commission and payout needs.
Our experience: We rely on short, branded tracking links ourselves. Connecting link clicks straight to revenue is exactly the data most partner teams are missing.
10. Lemon Squeezy: for merchants already using its commerce platform

Lemon Squeezy, now part of Stripe, is a merchant of record for software and digital products. Its built-in affiliate hub lets merchants run programmes directly connected to their store.
- Best for: Creators and software sellers already using Lemon Squeezy who want a programme with almost no setup.
- Watch out for: The built-in tools are basic compared with dedicated platforms, and only make sense if you sell through Lemon Squeezy.
Our experience: A sensible starting point if you are already on it. Graduate to a dedicated tool once partners become a meaningful channel.
11. Introw: for managing B2B partner relationships and sales collaboration

Introw is a partner relationship management (PRM) tool that sits on top of your CRM, covering partner onboarding, deal registration, shared pipeline and co-selling.
- Best for: B2B teams whose partners introduce and help close deals, rather than just sending tracked clicks.
- Watch out for: It lives or dies by CRM fit and adoption. If your sales team won't use it, partners won't either.
Our experience: For agency and reseller-style partnerships, deal registration matters more than link tracking. Introw is built for that model.
How to choose
Write a short brief before you book any demos:
- Your objective: sales, qualified leads, referrals or joint sales opportunities?
- Your recruitment plan: do you need a network, or will you bring your own partners?
- Your systems: what has to connect with your website, checkout, billing and CRM?
- Your economics: what can you afford in platform fees, network fees and commission?
- Your capacity: who will recruit, onboard, support and talk to partners?
- Your measurement: how will you judge customer quality, profit and genuinely new business?
Then ask shortlisted providers to walk through your real workflow, from a partner joining to a customer converting to a commission being paid.
What we've learned as a partner
- Recurring commission keeps partners promoting. One-off bounties get a launch post; recurring revenue gets ongoing coverage.
- Exclusive offers beat bigger commissions. A partner-only discount or extended trial converts better and gives partners a reason to feature you.
- Approve commissions quickly. Long pending windows and unexplained reversals are the fastest way to lose partners.
- Give partners assets. Logos, screenshots, tracked links and clear terms save everyone time and keep your brand accurate.
- Reporting matters on both sides. Pick a platform with a reliable API so partners can track your programme alongside the rest.
At Slick Media we see platform choice as one part of a wider partnership strategy. The technology should support an attractive offer, a clear recruitment plan and relationships your team has time to build. If you have a software product with a partner programme, get in touch about a listing.
